All about Wood Pellets

Pellets are manufactured from compressed sawdust/chippings - usually waste by-products from sawmills etc - and are typically 6mm and 8mm in diameter and up to 25mm in length.

The fuel has no additives and is bound together by the woods own natural glue called lignin.
The calorific value of wood pellets is amazingly high at around 5.5kW/hr per 1kg of pellet.

Wood pellet fuel is very clean - typically only 0.05% of the fuel ends up as ash which is also useful as it is a high-grade fertiliser so great for the garden or lawn.
Pellets can be bought in bags or in bulk.
